This statement was last updated on 31 August 2026. It replaces the version published on 11 July 2018, which described an older version of this website.

The short version: this website sets no cookies, loads nothing from any other company, and keeps no database. The only personal information we ever receive from it is what you choose to type into the enquiry form, and that arrives as an email. The rest of this page explains that in full.

When you are only looking at the site

Nothing about you is collected while you read these pages. To be specific:

No cookies. This site sets none at all, of any kind. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to ask you about.
Nothing loaded from anywhere else. Every image, typeface, stylesheet and script comes from this website. Your browser does not contact Google, Facebook, or any advertising network while you are here. The links to our Facebook and Instagram pages are ordinary links, so nothing is sent to either company unless you click one.
No analytics and no tracking. We do not measure visits, build a profile of you, or follow you to other websites.
No advertising. We do not sell or share information with anybody for advertising, and we never sell personal information at all.

Like every website, ours runs on a server, and that server keeps a short technical record of the requests it receives. That record can include your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and which browser you used. We use it to keep the site running and to deal with abuse or attacks. It is deleted automatically after a short period, we do not use it to work out who you are, and it is never joined up with anything else about you.

When you send us an enquiry

The enquiry form asks for your name, your email address, your phone number and your message, so that we can get back to you whichever way suits you. When you press Submit, that is sent to us as an email and nothing else happens with it. It is not saved on the website, it does not go into a database, and it is not passed to a form service or a marketing tool.

Why we ask

So that we can answer you. We use your details to reply to your enquiry and to carry on the conversation about the work you are asking about. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not send marketing.

What allows us to hold it

Your consent, which is what the tick box on the form is for. You can take that consent back at any time by emailing info@retrofoodtrucks.ie or by using the privacy request form. Taking it back does not undo anything we did while it was in place, and if we have gone on to do business together we may still need to keep records for as long as tax law requires.

Who sees it

The people at Retro Food Trucks who deal with enquiries, and nobody else. The form runs on the same hosting as this website, and your message is sent on from there to our mailbox. That mailbox is Google Workspace, so the message travels through the Google mail servers and sits on their systems, in the same way any email to us would. Apart from the company that hosts this website, Google is the only company involved in carrying it. We do not pass your enquiry to a form service, a CRM or a marketing tool, and we never sell or share it.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and anything that follows from it. An enquiry that comes to nothing is cleared out once it is plainly finished with. Where an enquiry turns into an order, the records that go with that order are kept for as long as tax law requires us to keep them. If you would like your details removed sooner, ask us and we will.

When you phone or email us

If you ring, we do not record the call and we do not log your number beyond whatever your own phone shows us. If you email us directly, we hold that email on the same terms as an enquiry sent through the form.

Cookies

There are none. This is unusual enough to be worth saying twice, so there is a separate page about cookies that explains what changed and what would happen if that ever stopped being true.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us something through the form, tell us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the following rights over information we hold about you. They are all free to use, and we will answer within one month.

To be told whether we hold anything about you at all.
To see it, and to be given a copy.
To correct it if it is wrong or incomplete.
To have it erased. Sometimes called the right to be forgotten.
To restrict what we do with it while a question about it is settled.
To take it with you in a form another company can read.
To object to us holding it.
To withdraw consent you have given, at any time.
Not to be subject to automated decision-making. We do not do any, so this one has nothing to bite on, but the right exists.

The quickest way to use any of these is the privacy request form. You can also just email info@retrofoodtrucks.ie, which reaches the same place. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act, because handing someone else your information would be its own kind of failure.

If you are unhappy with how we handle it

Please tell us first, so we get the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Irish supervisory authority at any time, whether or not you have spoken to us:

Changes to this statement

If the site starts doing something new with your information, this page is updated before that happens, not afterwards, and the date at the top changes. If a change is a significant one we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the wording.
